What got you into gaming? (first game you ever played)

I have been playing games all my life – got serious when I was in College – all we did after class was play Halo and COD. When I graduated then had to grow up. Didn’t have as much time for games. I took a 3 or 4 year break trying to find a job and get serious. I did start playing Call of Duty Zombies, that brought me back into the gaming world slowly. It wasn’t until I got a new job and moved into my own place did I dust off my Xbox 360 and start gaming regularly again.

What got you into streaming – what inspired the process from gamer to streamer?

I started watching people on Twitch and I was fascinated by the idea of people making money from doing something that they love. They are gaming and people are donating to them! It blew my mind. So I thought maybe I could this job maybe I could stream. I went into a Microcenter they had everything you could need to start on the journey of streaming. Streamer starter pack. I had everything I needed to start streaming.

What do you love about MG?

When I did get into streaming last December I didn’t see anybody that looked like me. I wanted to have a sense of belonging. I didn’t feel like I was part of anything. Even when I was trying to raid someone it was hard to see black people. So I started looking at hashtags then I saw Melanin Gamers and when I joined I knew this is my people! Being in this group you don’t deal with racism – you just get to be a gamer.

What kind of streamer are you?

I am all around type streamer. I do love FPS. I also love fun simple games like Fall Guys, Among Us, Super Mario Maker 2 – anything that I can play with viewers I love playing with viewers – anything that encompasses a certain aspect of interacting with people is great.

What are your plans for the future? What would you like to see in terms diversity of gaming?

I don’t need to be a super megastar gamer – but I would love a nice consistent community. I would love to compete in some tournaments in any type of game. I am looking at Apex for this. I also really want to commentate on tournaments in the future.

I guess for the future I would like to see more black streamers especially in prominent positions in gaming.
