What got you into gaming? (first game you ever played)

Varity streamer from Atlanta Ga, I grew up an army brat so, I love to travel. Preferred genre: RPG Action and Fighters but I’m not shy about trying new games. In 2018 I was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease I had brain surgery in Dec.

of 2018 and spent the better half of 2019 recovering and getting back in shape. Aug. will make one year on Facebook gaming. My goal as a streamer is to connect with other through the love of video games anime and all things popular culture.

I grew up as a military brat – every time we moved my brother and I were stuck in the house playing video games. That is how I started. I feel like gaming; something that was familiar wherever we were helped us to adjust to a new setting. It was the easiest way to make friends.

Video games are universal – everyone speaks the language of gaming, no matter where you are in the world. Also comic books.

What got you into streaming – what inspired the process from gamer to streamer?

I am very anti-social in real life – so I started streaming as a way to connect with people. I knew video games so that’s sort of how I would connect with people online through gaming. Not being able to go anywhere but still being able to connect with people from all over the world. You get to meet amazing people and communities such as Melanin Gamers.

What go me into streaming was actually because I was influenced by G4 TV – Network that had a lot of different shows dedicated to gaming. Then of course I heard about Twitch – the idea of streaming games sounded pretty cool especially after watching the Overwatch League. I thought: I could stream Overwatch and connect with people. But my first stream was Fortnite (don’t judge me).

Why Facebook gaming?

t’s an easier way to connect with your audience with Facebook gaming, there isn’t that anonymity when it comes to Facebook – people aren’t hidden behind fake profiles. It feels more authentic talking to real people. It also cuts down on trolls. When I started it was semi-new – so the involvement of the team running Facebook was very hands-on.

If I had a problem with a viewer it would get flagged up and reviewed in a heartbeat. The engagement and community there is amazing as is the growth I have been lucky to have.

What kind of streamer are you?

I would say I am a variety streamer, but I do love Monster Hunter and fighting games.

What does being an Ambassador initial to you?

Hopefully spreading the message that Melanin Gamers stands for on a platform that I like and that has shown me nothing but love.

How would you describe MG to someone?

A truly diverse collective of individuals that care about gaming.
