Melaningamers has opened up a whole new community of content creators and gamers that I would have never found on my own. This community is very supportive and open to everyone. Being a part of this community provides streamers with a sense of belonging and is constantly developing and evolving to become one of if not the best community on twitch, mixer, YouTube, and Facebook gaming. Being a part of this stream team has breathed new life into my own stream as well. In a word...Melaningamers is awesome.

The first time I saw the name "Melanin Gamers", I immediately knew it was something I needed to be a part of. It took me a long time to not only appreciate the Melanin in my skin but find other gamers who look like me who also play/enjoy similar games so finding this inclusive space was a breath of fresh air. Also, the founder/creator Anzy was a huge reason as to why I wanted to part of this community. Anzy is kind, supportive, inspiring & a huge motivation to me. Her & the MG Squad welcomed me with open arms without hesitation and we all instantly became family. Melanin Gamers is a community & brand I'm proud to represent and also glad to see continue to grow. Most importantly Melanin Gamers promotes diversity, positivity & inclusivity to all whilst also advocating for people of color who are Gamers which aligns with my personal morals and values"

I am struggling to find where I belong in the gaming world. Being a woman of color and gaming don’t seem to be things that typically go together and when I found out there was a group like this I was star struck! I love defying stereotypes, and being proud of my color. To the question you’re probably wondering right now, if you’ve seen my picture. I’m Black and Mexican. My Mexican father left before I was born so I was raised by my beautiful black mama in seas of cornbread and box braids. I am apart of the African American Honorary at my school, and it has been my school home. So to find an even more niche family for me in the gaming world would be wonderful. I feel like when I leave school I don’t have people to really connect with.

The group creates an environment of success, by supporting each other’s achievements; Integrity, demonstrating accepted behaviours and being good role models; Perseverance, watching each other through twitch app/ following each other on social media and supporting each other at Melanin Gamers events; Community, not only online, the attendance of Melanin Gamers events; Finally a purposeful atmosphere of allowing ideas to be shared and bonds to be created.
