Apex Legends Global series – is the equivalent of the world cup for gamers!
The ALGS Apex Legends Global series – is the equivalent of the world cup for gaming! With 20 teams competing to battle to see who will be crowned victor in this stunning display of talent from across the globe.
Esports events have been attracting larger audiences and generating more excitement than ever before.
While the atmosphere and the fanfare around the event could have fooled anyone into thinking this was the final, it was actually the split two playoff – with the first split taking place earlier this year in April in London as the host city. But the final – the decider will be held in Birmingham this year.
The fact that the event is split into different phases (Split 1 February, 2nd 5th – Split 2 July, 13th – 16th) does not diminish its significance. On the contrary, it emphasise the increasing popularity and demand for esports and LAN events. Esports events have been attracting larger audiences and generating more excitement than ever before.
There were meet-and-greets for fans who wanted to come close to pros they had witnessed perform feats they wouldn't have even dreamed of.
Aside from the matches themselves – there were plenty of activities surrounding the event: including cosplayers of the characters in the game. Myself being one of them. There were meet-and-greets for fans who wanted to come close to pros they had witnessed perform feats they wouldn’t have even dreamed of. (NRG Sweet coming down from the drop ship and landing on a team to clutch a victory by bringing out Rampart’s Ult – Shelia or Alliance’s effect – Throwing an Ult to distract a team then taking out an entire team with just clips from the Prowler.)
Nessie fans rejoiced – with the amount of merchandise that was being sold. WD Black set up a competition for attendees who felt brave enough to go one-on-one with popular Apex streamers Black Boye and The Caramel Gamer. As a testament to their skill, only a handful of players emerged victorious against the dozens who competed; there was also a bus set up outside for friends to play Apex games courtesy of WD Black. Suffice it to say the entire four days was a time well spent involving all things Apex.

The final games were a true test of endurance and skill, with the crowd going wild every time a player made a spectacular play. Following along the POV of some of the players, it looked like Zeus hurtling thunderbolts from the sky. Chants of “one more game” echoed around the stadium every time a team on match point got closer to winning.
GG - Dark Zero
Finally, Dark Zero, who had been on match point for a few games, was able to seal the deal and be crowned victors of the match two playoffs.
Up next, Birmingham for the decider of who is the best Apex team in the world!
